In an industry where the common wisdom is “10% of the Realtors get 90% of the results,” Ruth LeBlanc Jones is a member of an elite group of top producers. Ruth credits her stellar success to treating real estate as a very serious, “more than full time” career, obtaining and sharing a tremendous store of knowledge, and “just having real estate in my blood.”
During her more than two decades in the business, Ruth has received many awards and honors. A native and lifelong resident of New Canaan, Ruth has strong ties to her community, where her charitable work with several not for profit organizations, including the Norwalk Emergency Shelter and the Vision Fund, has earned her additional recognition. Ruth currently splits her sales activities about 50/50 between new and existing homes in the New Canaan, Greenwich, Darien, Westport and other markets in southern Fairfield County.
“You need a high level of ongoing commitment and can never rest on your accomplishments.” she says. “Successful Realtors are very knowledgeable, dedicated to their careers, and know the needs and psychology of their customers.”

“Ruth is truly a one-of-a-kind REALTOR®. She has been in the business more than 20 years, yet she is still committed to her business with the same enthusiasm she had in the beginning. While she is known for her expertise and service in the luxury market, she still takes the time to handle first-time buyers or renters and she treats everyone with the same care and attention,” said Lisa Harness, a former colleague and manager of Coldwell Banker in Westport. “What is different about Ruth is that while she has a staff, she is the main contact with her customers. No one works harder than Ruth.” “Ruth has been a phenomenal success because she loves what she is doing, she works harder than anyone I know, and her enthusiasm for people and her charities is endless,” Lisa said.
Larry Rosenberg, of New Canaan, is one satisfied customer who has used Ruth three times for selling and buying his homes and would use her again, without hesitation. He originally found Ruth through referrals and said that her great marketing in the community through signage and ads also branded her presence.
“Ruth is super! She is very different than many other REALTOR®s because she really knows her business and is extremely professional. She knows her market, the facts and the community, and was exceptional with her timing. For example, she knew the best time to make an offer and guided me on when to submit counter-offers with the seller. She has a great personality and was a pleasure to work with,” said Larry.
Another client, a senior executive from a major Wall Street firm, who transferred to Darien from San Francisco with his young family cannot say enough superlatives about Ruth and her staff. “She was absolutely spectacular and incredible! I am a tough judge of character and professionalism and Ruth is that and much more!” he said.
He added: “She has created a well-oiled machine of service with her staff. She took the time to really get to know us and our needs, listened to us, and scoured Connecticut to find homes to see. When we finally found the house that met all of our needs and desires, her superb skills of negotiation made it become a reality. Even after the sale, she has helped my family relocate and is still in contact with us today, answering every question we have. Ruth has become a friend. This is the real reason she is such a top real estate professional,” he said.

Creativity Wins Big for Local Real Estate Star
Ruth Jones of Ruth Jones Homes with Chairman of the HBA Board Greg Ugalde (left), and incoming HBA President George LaCava.
The winning streak continues for New Canaan native Ruth Jones, who took top honors at the recent HOBI (Home Building Industry) Awards, the most prestigious recognition in Connecticut for excellence in remodeling, home financing, sales and marketing, new construction and land development.
Continuing a 12-year reign as “New Home Broker of the Year”, Jones also claimed the top award for “Best Ad, Print/Web”.
Even more impressive than Ms. Jones’ string of HOBI and Industry Awards is the win as a “new” real estate firm — Ruth Jones Homes . The former Coldwell Banker star (top 1% sales producer internationally) founded her own company a mere six months ago, fulfilling a life-long dream of providing a full-component real estate service that could meet every need of buyers, sellers, investors and builders.
“It’s clear Ruth loves what she does. She’s really creative and thinks outside the box,” says developer Matt Ready of Ruth Jones’ innovative approach. “Ruth doesn’t sit and wait for things to happen….she kicks off her [stiletto] heels and digs right in. I can’t believe some of the cool solutions and sales she’s made in a real estate market where nobody else is moving anything!”
And the creativity is paying off for everyone. An experienced builder and remodeler in addition to real estate sales, Ruth is able to highlight the opportunities and features of a property to their fullest potential. The Ruth Jones Homes full-service Real Estate Sales and Marketing base accommodates New Construction and Remodeling, Property Management, Financing and Insurance, Financial Planning, Staging and more. The additional amenities are a hit with both buyers and sellers, and are credited with continued new listings and sales.
“I’ve always wanted to actually help people looking to buy or sell a home,“ says Ms. Jones, “and now I can do everything from putting together financing packages to finding new markets and getting people into homes they can love and afford!”
Jones earned the title of “New Home Broker of the Year” by expanding a base of luxury residences and new home construction to condos, remodels and investment properties. “Everybody has a different need, expectation and financial situation,” explains Ruth Jones Homes associate Jennifer Rizzo. “We have listings from a private island and multi-million-dollar homes to cozy cottages and condo options for first-time homebuyers.”
The Ruth Jones Homes HOBI “Best Ad” also represented a broad spectrum of real estate opportunities, and kicked off a major marketing campaign and Open House Extravaganza to benefit local charities while showcasing specific properties. “It’s easy to be creative when you’re surrounded by people with a great work ethic and the desire to give back to the community,” says award-winning graphic designer Lisa Richards. “Ruth is known as much for her charitable work (including a seat on the Board of the Norwalk Emergency Shelter, a “Philanthropist of the Year” award from the Vision Fund, and longtime support of other non-profit initiatives, including the ALS and Lymphoma Foundations) as she is for her amazing success in real estate!”
With another string of HOBI wins and fresh enthusiasm to get creative and make things happen, Ruth Jones is looking forward to expanding her Fairfield County/Westchester/Rhode Island base, again proving that hard work and determination do prevail.
